What is AREP?

The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Project Implementation Agency (AREP-RSK) is a public administrative institution, under the supervision of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Council. It was created as part of advanced regionalization, with its main mission being the implementation of regional development projects decided by the regional council.

Creation context: Rabat-Salé region, Kenitra

In order to implement Article 128 of Organic Law 111.14, which states: “In order to enable regional councils to manage their affairs, a legal entity under public law with administrative and financial autonomy is created in each region under the name AREP.” The Casablanca Settat Regional Council has established the regional project implementation agency.

The agency's mission

  • Provide the regional council, at the request of the president, with all forms of legal assistance and technical and financial engineering during the study and development of development projects and programs
  • Take charge of and implement development projects and programs adopted by the region
  • Manage certain projects on behalf of the region
  • Propose to the Council the creation of regional development companies (SDR)
