As part of the efforts by the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Council to ensure the implementation of development projects in compliance with the highestlegal, environmental, and social standards, the Regional Agency for Project Implementation (AREP) has adopted a renewed and comprehensiveapproach to managing and executing regional projects.
In this context, the agency has developed a new set of specifications, taking into account the evolution of national legislation and established best practices. This document has been enriched with a series of environmental standards aimed at reducing the negative impact of projects on the natural environment, as well as social requirements to guarantee the rights and dignity of workers, and strict measures to ensure safety conditions on construction sites.
To promote a participatoryapproach and ensure the involvement of all stakeholders in the implementation process, AREP-RRSK organized an awareness session for itspartners, including construction companies, technical consulting offices, and quality control laboratories. During this session, detailed explanations were provided regarding the new elementsintroduced in the specifications, highlighting the objectives of adopting these documents and the practices required to ensure compliance during project execution.
The session was wellreceived by the participants, who expressed their full commitment to this new approach and affirmed their willingness to actively contribute to the success of the region’s projects by adopting environmental and social considerations as an integral part of their working methodology.
