Road Infrastructure Component (2016-2023)
The Program for the Reduction of Territorial and Social Disparities (PRDTS) aims to open up rural areas, improveaccess to basic services, and strengthen social cohesion in the most vulnerable territories.
Between 2016 and 2023, a major rural development project was launched in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, resulting in the construction of 1,448.95 kilometers of roads, including both classified and unclassified routes, designed to connect rural centers to urban hubs, healthfacilities, schools, and weeklymarkets.
Objectives
- Reduce territorial inequalities in terms of mobility.
- Facilitate rural populations’ access to basic social services (health, education, commerce).
- Stimulate economicactivity and regionalintegration.
- Improve the living conditions of residents in remote areas.
Budget
The program mobilized a total budget of 1,603.65 million dirhams (over 1.6 billion dirhams) for the construction of these infrastructures, covering the various provinces of the region.
