As part of the efforts to valorize national history and uphold the duty of remembrance, an ambitious project has been launched in the province of Khémisset to honor the sacrifices of Former Resistance Fighters and Members of the LiberationArmy. This project reflects a shared commitment to embedhistorical memory within the territories and use it as a tool for education and transmission to future generations.

Project Partners

This project is implemented under a partnership and cooperation agreement between:

  • The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Council
  • The Delegation of the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters
  • The Province of Khémisset
  • The Communes of Oulmès and Rommani

Objectives

  • Preserve and valorize national memory related to the resistance and liberation.
  • Provide citizens, researchers, and youngergenerations with cultural spacesdedicated to the country’shistory.
  • Promote citizenshipeducation through cultural and heritage resources.

Project Components

With an initial budget of 3.8 million dirhams, the project plans the construction of two memory spaces in the communes of Oulmès and Rommani, including:

  • A museum exhibition hall retracing historical events.
  • A library and reading room dedicated to books, national literature, and scientific publications.
  • A multimedia room for audiovisual content and digital documentation.
  • An information room on local resistance.
  • Administrative offices for management and activity coordination within the spaces.
